These 440 volt are the original generators used to power the old Murtoa inland freezer Works from 1908 These generators were used to provide power for the electric motors and fans, 110 volt dc ran the Lights. Technical data: The 440v produced 52amp at 1070 revolutions The 110v produced 5,5Kva They are compound wound due to the variation in load, which helped keep the voltage relatively constant as the load changed. Wimmera Inland Freezer Works also provided power to Murtoa These have been restored by Dale Watts with help from the Monday working bee members.
